6 Things Cats Will Never Admit To

Cats are more than a little mysterious. We may never figure out why Fluffy is so obsessed with boxes, or why she just can’t resist smacking small items off counters and coffee tables. In fact, there are quite a few things kitties may never fess up to. Here, a North Phoenix, AZ vet lists some things cats will never admit.

Running On Solar

Does your pet enjoy napping in sunbeams? We’re guessing the answer to that is yes. Fluffy may actually arrange her napping schedule so she can soak up as much sun as possible. We always thought kitties ran on water, food, and ear scritches, but these little furballs may also use solar power!

Plotting World Domination

Did you know that June 24th is Cat World Domination Day? We can’t say whether or not Fluffy is actually plotting to take over the world. However, kitties have managed to seize control over a huge chunk of the internet!

Being Cold-Blooded

As noted above, cats love soaking up sunlight. However, if your furball gets too hot while sunbathing, she’ll move out of the sunlight, only to return a few minutes later, when she’s cooled off. This is exactly how reptiles regulate their temperatures!

Manipulating Us

As it turns out, our feline overlords may have started meowing just so they could boss us around. Cats rarely ‘speak’ to one another: they communicate among themselves by using body language, facial expressions, and tail position. Apparently, Fluffy realized that those cute, plaintive cries really tug at our heartstrings, and are very effective at getting us to offer food, lap space, and catnip.

The Secret Of The Purr

Cat purrs are very interesting. Fluffy’s little engine runs at certain frequencies, which have been shown to have very positive effects on the human body. These frequencies, which are between 25 and 150 Hertz, promote tissue growth and improve bone density. They also have a very soothing, calming effect on us. Our furry buddies just may be a little bit magic!

Deliberate Hairball Placement

It’s probably safe to say that hairballs are no more fun for Fluffy than they are for us. However, kitties do seem suspiciously adept at leaving these ‘presents’ in key places. With cats, you never know!
